Scrolling Profiles
Scrolling Profiles is a modification of the existing WordPress Plugin “Cute Profiles”.
Scrolling Profiles offers the following extra features.
- Fixed Positioning
- jQuery based Scrolling.
This plugin was developed by atajsicDesigns (Andrew Tajsic) apon an existing plugin “Cute Profiles”. The functionality Cute Profiles initially had was great, however I felt it needed the edge. Scrolling Profiles adds some simply javascript and some extra options in the configuration to enable a highly customizable and eye candy version of Cute Profiles.
- Download the latest copy of Scrolling Profiles.
- Extract the archive.
- Using FTP, navigate to /wp-content/plugins.
- Copy “scrolling-profiles” directly to this directory.
- Login to your wp-admin panel eg. http://example.com/wp-admin/
- Navigate to the plugins section.
- Activate “Scrolling Profiles”!
- You can now edit Scrolling Profiles through the settings page located under Settings>Scrolling Profiles.
Customize Looks
The position of Scrolling Profiles can be determined by modifying the value in both the “Distance from Center” and “Distance from Top” settings.
Distance From Center:
The Distance from Center determines where the icons shall show in relation to the center of the page.
For example. On this website, the profiles are moved to the left from the center 550px. So, I inputed “-550″.
If you would prefer the Profile Links to be on the right side of the page, you can move it there by inputting a positive number, eg. “550″
Icons Distance from Top:
This is pretty self explanatory. How far from the top do you want the icons to be, in pixels.
jQuery Scrolling
If enabled in the Customize Looks, the icons will follow the top of the browser as an individual scrolls down the page. This can be enabled and disabled by using the plugin settings page through the Admin Panel. (Settings>Scrolling Profiles)
